Stuart Catley


Born in Birmingham and now resident in South Wales Stuart is influenced by a variety of artists, including Roger Cecil, Wassily Kandinsky, Wilma af Klimt and Zdenko Krtic.

Stuart graduated from Staffordshire University with a BA (Hons) Politics and post studies he worked as an illustrator and story board artist in film and advertising, before making a transition to fine art during the pandemic.

Drawing from his undergraduate studies Stuart often explores themes of politics and power and their intersectionality with art. Growing up in the west midlands the brutalist landscape and its post-industrial heritage heavily influence the fragmented and shattered abstract images Stuart creates.

Stuart has previously exhibited with Queens Street Gallery and Blackwater Gallery. 

Stuart has his first solo exhibition with Queen Street Gallery in 2025.
