Ru Goodchild is a full time artist and teacher based in Gloucestershire and lives with her family and crazy dog. She has a garden studio where she uses her sketch books to create paintings capturing the extreme moods of natural and wild landscapes. Ru uses vibrant colour to capture a sense of light and energy. Trips to the Scottish Highlands, especially the Isle of Skye and the Isle of Raasay feeds her work, with the Crofts and Bothies that sit in the landscape so comfortably, often in isolation, always looking out over an incredible view. Experimenting with acrylic and acrylic ink and layering colour and textures Ru seeks to communicate the deep emotion, the wildness, feeling of the ancient and the dynamism of these beautiful landscapes that are so captivating.
