Profile

Welcome to my artistic world, where the beauty of the ocean and the depths of abstract expression converge. I’m thrilled to share my journey with you and invite you to immerse yourself in the transformative power of my art.

There has never been a time in my life when I haven’t loved to paint, but when I began to venture more intentionally into the world of decorative art a couple of years ago, I discovered the enchantment of seascapes and abstract painting, using paint pouring. Guided by the rhythm of the waves and the allure of the unknown, I found myself compelled to create with acrylic paint and silicone oil, blending vibrant colours and embracing the fluidity of the medium. It is a process that awakens my spirit, as I pour the paint onto the canvas and allow the artwork to take shape, guided by intuition, my faith, and a deep sense of belonging to the creative process.

The ocean, to me, embodies infinite possibilities. It is a metaphor for freedom, mystery, and the intricate interconnectedness of life. Every colour choice, every poured paint, reflects the profoundness of the ocean’s mysteries, the depth of hidden life beneath the surface, and the vibrant hues that dance upon the water. Each artwork becomes a portal, a window into the profound beauty and vastness that lies within us and the world around us.

Through my art, my mission is to bring a sense of uplifting, inspiration, and respite from the busyness and stress of modern life. I want to create pieces that allow you to escape into a world of beauty and wonder, where your spirit can soar and your imagination can roam freely. Whether you seek tranquility, a connection to nature, or simply a moment of contemplation, my art serves as a vessel to transport you to a place of inner peace and the possibility of adventure.

Positive Space
Life can be incredibly full, busy, pressured and fast paced. We often need much more time and space than we give ourselves, to reflect, to take a moment to pause and breathe life in. Sometimes the white areas on a painting are called ‘negative space’, yet here, I want to give some positive space. I imagine sitting by the ocean, perhaps on a coastal rock, surrounded by the ever-moving water. And just taking it all in. Letting the moment and the ocean wash over the to do lists, the expectations, the pressures and worries. One aspect of doing this which enables me to gain peace and perspective is knowing that I am not the centre, but simply one tiny part of this enormous and beautiful world. That though I am significant, as we all are, I am not actually the One in charge, I am not truly the One in control, but I am always and unconditionally loved, whatever life looks like at that moment. Give yourself some positive space.

You Are Loved
Can I be a little vulnerable with you for a moment? Taking the leap of becoming a full-time artist is so incredibly exciting and I have been blown away by the support and love I have received. But stepping out in this way also brings with it impostor syndrome, fear of failure, fear of disappointing those who believe in me, or of not being good enough. ‘You Are Loved’ is actually painted over another painting. I liked the original piece but it didn’t go with me or say what I wanted it to. I felt drawn to paint over this large piece, and as I mixed, poured, brushed, palette knifed, heated and layered, there was one thing that I kept hearing – “you are loved”. We can get so bogged down with expectations, real and imagined, from others and the ones we put on ourselves. But it was so therapeutic to create this beautiful piece and be reminded that just as I am, I am loved. My faith in God, my family, my friends, my belief in myself, all contribute to know that this is truth, unconditionally.
