Artist Profile

Katie Hester

Medium: Drawing

I’m a professional animal portrait artist specialising in colour and graphite pencils. My passion is wildlife and helping their conservation so combining these two elements is very important. I give 10% of the proceeds from all wildlife originals to charities supporting vital wildlife conservation efforts. There is a meaning behind the portrait that I have created and it sometimes can resonate with my collectors. I’m always open to suggestions of which African animal to draw next so please don’t hesitate to ask! The aim behind my wildlife art is to ignite a profound sense of reverence for the incredible animals with whom we share this planet. I believe that together with a joint love of animals and art we can also help turn a tide on extinction of these incredible animals!

Prints from my original pieces will be available on my website soon – each one comes hand signed and numbered.

I also create bespoke hyper realistic pet portrait commissions from photographs taken by my clients. I love being able to immortalise peoples pets and capture their characters with my pencils.

Being a self taught artist I have learnt how to master the pencils I use and enjoy creating all of the intricate little details which brings you closer to the portrait. It is very therapeutic.
