Gaz Lawrence
Lawrence is an interdisciplinary artist working in Bristol and Bath. His work uses different media including ink, oil, acrylic and spray paint to create expressive figurative artworks that subtly portray the intersection between science, tech and fine art. Most recently Lawrence has been experimenting with photography and digital media to augment his hand-drawn patterns.
Lawrence is also founder of The MoSAIC The Museum of Science, the Arts & Interdisciplinary Collaboration) which is an online learning company aimed at providing learners of all ages and educators with a place explore how the arts can help communicate science and to demonstrate the power of cross-curricular learning.

Asterism 1
The first in a series of ‘Asterisms’. Just like the constellations, these shapes are anamorphic - they can only be seen from one viewpoint. The reference images for these paintings are created in Blender and Unreal Engine.
Study for: St Francis
I met my Francis in Goa, India. He started the day as my tour guide. We finished the day as mates. He showed me an abandoned temple in the jungle that nobody was supposed to visit and this painting is my memory of that day. The reference image for the shapes in this painting were created in Unreal Engine 4. These paintings are the result of 18 months of experimentation supported by the Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice grant.
Little Man II
This small oil painting inspired what has become Lawrence's 'Asterisms' series of oil paintings. Here, the artist's nephew sits before a box bursting with childlike wonder. Lawrence is now experimenting with 3D modelling software to create the reference images for his oil paintings in this style where figures sit and contemplate the beauty of the organic shaped metallic objects in front them.
