Artist Profile
Emily Slinger
I am a photographer and printer who strives to move beyond simply documenting reality; creating work that reflects a personal interpretation of the world around me. Inspiration is drawn from a wide range of subjects and styles, from the naturalistic to the abstract. This diversity allows me to explore visual ideas that shift between observation and imagination.
Working across photography and print processes I embraces the tactile and experimental nature of printmaking alongside the precision of photographic imagery. These processes allow creative control — from the moment of capture to the final print — enabling me to translate my vision and ideas into a cohesive and expressive body of work.
Recently, a return to analogue photography has seen me back in the darkroom, exploring alternative processes such as Pinhole photography, Photograms, and Cyanotypes.
A member of the Bear Flat Artists I take part in their annual Art Trail and regularly exhibit and have exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (2024).
