Collage on board (wood blocks, original comic book panels, text from Edda, ink, and acrylic paint)

Edda is the text upon which most modern depictions of Norse Mythology
are sourced. The prose recounts tales of Asgard and The Mighty Thor,
among many other exciting stories.

Thor has become the archetypal example of a God as a warrior hero. He
is courageous and loyal but also brash and at times indulgent. As with
many early Marvel heroes the publisher’s depiction of Thor supports the
idea of ultimate purity, combining all three primary colours through the
red and blue in Thor’s costume and golden yellow of his hair. In this
sense he represents the best of us all.
