This painting was created in a state of flow, almost entirely in one session. I wanted to evidence and accentuate the amazing quality and depth of the black ink and create a painting that the viewer could get lost in – hence the large scale of this piece. There is a completely different emotional tone and experience at each layer/stage of the painting – from the delicacy of the mark-making and texture at the top of the painting, to the watery, fluid and overlapping detail in the middle section. Finally, the bottom section of the painting, reaches a level of true black; true immersion, allowing the viewer to feel fully absorbed. I think this painting can be a metaphor for many experiences, feeling states or elements of modern day life.

Buy any artwork via bcaf.co.uk and if you are not over the moon, simply return it in the original condition within 14 days. When we have confirmed its condition with the artist or gallery, you will get a full refund.

  • Act within 14 days of receiving your order.
  • Keep the artwork in the condition you received it, and pack it as it came. If the original packaging is not up to scratch, take a photo for us, repackage it securely and send it back.
  • Remember, returning the artwork is your responsibility, including the cost and insuring the artwork in transit.

MY ARTWORK ARRIVED IN DAMAGED CONDITION

If your new artwork does not arrive in gallery condition, snap a picture of the damage and reach out to us. We will talk to the artist to see if it is fixable or replaceable. If not, you can send it back for a refund.
